The smell of freshly mowed alfalfa filled the air as a large crowd gathered for a special ceremony north of Melham Hospital Monday morning, Aug. 10th. Standing on top of the hill on the somewhat breezy morning, the guests in attendance were given an opportunity to take in the view that will soon greet the residents of Vetter Senior Living in Broken Bow.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new facility Monday morning, led by Mitch Elliot, project development officer for Vetter. Elliot explained that the new facility, which will be known as Brookestone View, will be built on the four-acre property located on the east side of Laurel Drive. It will be a 42,000 square-foot facility which will house 60 residents.

One of the dignitaries in attendance for the groundbreaking was State Senator Matt Williams. Senator Williams commended the efforts not only of Vetter Senior Living, but of the community of Broken Bow for making this project happen.

The company anticipates beginning to move dirt on the project within the next few weeks, with the facility to be completed late October 2016.
